This site is dedicated to the enjoyment and maintenance of a pond, all year round.
Hi, I’m Mike. Barb and I have lived with a natural pond on our property for over 10 years and now we can’t imagine being without one. Swimming, fishing, “hunting” for frogs, racing radio-controlled boats, bird watching, nature photography, ice skating and pond hockey are but a few of the many enjoyable activities in and around a pond.
It took us a few years to figure out our pond’s natural rhythm and how to properly keep it. Until then it stunk in the summer heat, was partially covered in a greenish-brown slime and was otherwise perfectly suited to the manufacturing of mosquitoes.
Our hope is that this site will help you to make the very most out of your pond by sharing not only maintenance tips but also the near infinite perks of pond “ownership”.
Site Navigation:
- Blog: All of my posts go here with the most current on top. Use ‘categories’ and ‘tags’ to find posts on a particular topic, such as mosquito control or rink safety.
- Photos: Unless otherwise stated these are photos that I have taken myself of our pond or of something happening around it. Clicking on a photo in this section will take you to the complete album hosted at another site, all in high resolution.
- Products: In an effort to keep posts neat, tidy and to the point I have created this section to provide further details on any products mentioned in the blog.
- Guestbook: Both physical and virtual pond visitors are welcome to say hello and to comment on the site in general. Discussions about a specific post should take place at the end of that post using the Comments feature.
Thanks for dropping in.
Mike
